It's easy for the sheer volume of dumb things to blur together into background noise. The point of writing it down — dating it, filing it, keeping a tally — is to resist that blur. Future readers (including future you) deserve a record that isn't just vibes.

Some ground rules this site tries to follow, and that you may want to keep in mind as you write your own posts:

1. Cite specifics. Dates, sources, direct quotes. It's funnier and it's defensible.
2. Mock the statement, not people who had nothing to do with it.
3. Opinion is clearly opinion. This is a satire and commentary site, not a wire service.
